Thanks for the comment. It is strange that so many people fail to grasp the real power of social media – the ability to create relationships and find evangelists.

This is so true! I feel as if way too many people (including myself at times) forget that social media is an absolutely POWERFUL relationship building tool, but not necessarily supposed to be “free advertising.” I’m definitely going to keep this post in mind with my future social media efforts!

Thanks for sharing man,

Josh May

Comment on Control Your Facebook Privacy Settings by Alex Standt https://www.socialmediaperformancegroup.com/control-your-facebook-privacy-settings/#comment-442 Tue, 16 Jul 2013 17:54:26 +0000 http://smperformance.wordpress.com/?p=2371#comment-442 It’s great to see articles like this that are raising awareness about privacy settings in the social media arena. With a host of different crimes being committed in this digital arena common sense and good understanding of the potential dangers have to be in the fore front of people’s minds. As it stands now, these cyber criminals are getting bigger, stronger and faster than the general public and they seem to be on the brink of waging digital war. If I sound like somewhat of an alarmist, just talk to someone who has been brought down by cyber crime and you may feel differently. Awesome job here, thanks. I’ve got so many spam Twitter followers, blocking all of them can take quite a long time. Responding to friends on Twitter, retweets, reading the fascinating articles, checking out the paper.li that have me listed, and so many other distractions can go way past 2 hours per day.

I started an online community of passionate homeopaths from around the world to commune, share, and educate in 2009. It takes constant creativity to keep a community alive and growing.
